Chapter 32
Jackie looks at the Dr. examining her and something looked familiar about him but she couldn't put her finger on it. “Stop.” She says. The Dr. didn’t listen. “I said STOP!” With all the voice power she had, it came out louder than it had during the last couple of days. Jon looks at Jackie and then the Dr. and says in a firm voice, “She said Stop so take your hands off her!”
Dr. Khan looks at Jackie and then Jon and asks, “What’s wrong?” Acting confused to why he was told to stop an exam, not processing what was going on.
“I don’t want anyone touching me!” She stuttered. “I tried I just can’t let you touch me anymore!” Jackie said in a scared but loud voice trying not to sob as she said it.
Jon looks at the Dr. as he tries to finish his exam as if Jackie didn’t speak at all. He started to walk around the bed when the curtain is moved back and Derrick entered the room. He stopped and could see things weren’t quite right here. Jackie had a terrified look on her face and Jon looked like he was going to rip the head off the Dr. He clears his throat and asks, “Is everything ok? Jackie are you ok? Jon what’s going on?” While he was asking the questions the Dr. quickly leaves the room with out saying another word.
“Who was that?” Derrick asked.
“The Dr. taking over for Dr. Shelton.” Jon said in a voice that could hardly be heard while he was trying to keep his cool.
“A Dr. hasn’t been assigned to her yet, No one should have been in here! What did he touch?” He asked while putting the ice chips down and pulling out his phone. “Hey we need a team to Jackie's room there was an attempt ASAP!” He said to the phone and hung up, “Do not touch the bed or anything else.” Derrick said with a firm voice. He watches Jon lift his hands off the side rail.
“What’s going on?” Jon asks.
“I didn’t get a clear look at him, wait I’ll be right back.” He said walking to the door.
“Sweetness what is he talking about?” Jon asked as he looked at her. Jackie looked at Jon before
saying anything, she looks away and then back at him and says, “That was an attempt on my life. You know this means I’ll be moved soon and you will not know where I’ll go you’ll need to be prepared for this.” She reached out for his hand before he could pull it away, she intertwined their fingers and gently pulled him a little closer more than she wanted but couldn’t help her actions like it was in slow motion. “Jon I have to go, if something happened to you or one of the kids or even your brothers or parents I don’t think I could live with myself.” She said in a desperate voice and pleading eyes. Jon
looked at her and his heart broke knowing what she was saying was true but he didn’t want to be apart from her. Jon feeling like his world is crashing in on him he had to move up his plans to get her out before Derrick did.
After a short time Derrick returned to the room walking in on his phone call, Jon only hearing Derrick’s side of the conversation.
“Yes that’s right you can get into their system and check out the camera right?” Derrick asked as he walked back into Jackie’s room.
Jon hurried and typed a text as Jackie was focused on Derrick.
GET A CHOPPER HERE YESTERDAY!
Jon you know it won’t be that easy.
Do it and do it now!
I’ll do my best but I’m not sure how fast I can do it.
Text me when its on its way!

“Was that Penny?” Jackie asked, her voice getting stronger as time goes by.
Derrick looking at Jon then Jackie, “Yes that was Penny working her magic to get the footage we need.We will get this guy ok?” Derrick said. Just then a knock on the door ends the conversation. Derrick walks toward the door with a hand on his gun on his right hip, he unsnapped
the snap slides his fingers down inside the case, putting his finger in the trigger. He moves the curtain aside and looks out the door and sees the CSI team. Removing his hand from his hip and resnaps the holster.
The team walks in and starts to work on the room. Rocky and Stella assist Jackie to the chair so she wouldn’t be in the way of the team working on the bed. She watches as the team work osn the room.
“Derrick you need to get the chart his hands were all over it.” Jackie stated in a calm voice. “Already done Jack.” He said with a slight grin on his face thinking they still got the chemistry as a team. Jon standing next to Jackie watching the people work in the room amazed at their team work. Jon squats down by Jackie. “Hey you ok?” He asked as he watched her face. She slowly turned her face towards him she says, “ No I’m not I will be leaving you soon and I hate it, the more I think about it. It breaks my heart I can’t bear the thought of you not being in my life, not being able to pick up the phone to call or text you.” A tear slid down her face when she spoke the words. Jon’s heart broke at her words knowing how true the words were if he didn’t get her out first. Just then a text came to his phone. He stood up to read it.
Chopper in route?
What’s the ETA?
2 hours.
What’s your plan on getting her out?
Not sure yet but I’ll think of something.
Need me to send a distraction?
How soon would they get here?
Already on the way they know to wait till the chopper is landing.

The team had finished up and left. Derrick walked out with them. Jon looks at Jackie and says, “Hey if you could be any place but here where would you be?”
Looking at Jon with a slight smile, “Any place with you we have a lot of time to make up for.” She said in a low voice. A tear slid down her face. when Jon sees this he grabs a chair and sits it to the side but facing her. Reaches for her hand watching her reaction with a slight nod of her head he grabs her hand and rubs it with his thumb. “ Jackie I love you I would go anywhere with you. I will do anything to keep you safe will you let me try please?” He asked in a pleading voice while looking into her eyes to show her how serious he was.
“Jon I want that more than anything but you know that can’t happen. I won’t take you from your kids, from your parents, your family or your fans. Do you know how mad your fans would be? I’m sure you do I won’t have that hanging over my head.” She said in a very sad voice. Looking at him with more tears flowing now. Pulling her hand away to wipe her tears as Derrick enters the room again he walks toward them. He tells Jackie and Jon, “ We got the footage now a facial recognition program running on the photo we pulled from the footage. I hope we get a name on this guy what did he go by?”
“Dr Khan is what he called himself.” Jon tells him with out moving his eyes off Jackie.
“Well if he is a Dr. his prints will be on file.” Derrick said while texting the info to the IT Penny on the other end of the text.
“Jon I need you to do something for me please.” Jackie said in an hesitant voice never leaving his face, but her eyes drift slightly trying to keep it together to make her wishes known. She knows he’s going to flip when he hears what she has to say.
“What do you want me to do?” Jon asks as he looks at her face, getting a feeling this isn’t going to be good.
“You need to promise me you will do this.” She said as she continued talking, “Promise me before I tell you what I need. Please!” As a tear rolled down her face followed by more. Jon watches the tears then sees her shoulders droop and then start to shake, hearing her cry broke his heart in so many different ways than he could imagine. He clears his throat and says, “I’ll do what ever you need me to do.” She looks up at him with eyes full of tears, Jon reaches up to wipe them as she flinches but grabs his hand to let him follow through, he lays his hand on her bruised cheek she then lays her hand on his and presses it into her cheek as she turns her face enough to kiss the palm of his hand. “I need you to bury me.” She said in a quiet voice that caught in her throat when she sees the look of shock in Jon’s eyes.
“I don’t want anyone touching me!” She stuttered. “I tried I just can’t let you touch me anymore!” Jackie said in a scared but loud voice trying not to sob as she said it.
