Chapter 30

 
Jon stands near Rocky waiting for him to respond. Rocky looks at Jon  not sure what to say, he turns away from Jon sighing as he does. "Jon, this case is getting so out of hand I don't know what to do or say at times." He said in a ragged voice as he  looks away from the man standing in front of him.

Jon looks at the man and says,"This whole thing is nuts, the woman I love is severely injured and is going to  be taken from me for God knows how long, her Dr. is fighting for his life. What am I suppose to do here sit and play tiddly winks?" He was getting angry again this whole thing was way out of control, he just wants to take her home and get her better and they can get on with their life together.
Jon starts to form a plan in his head as he was going to to take things into his hands once he was alone he would do some searching and start making plans to bring her home and get her better. He watches Rocky, Rocky turns and walks out of the room with out finishing what they were talking about. This made Jon even angrier. He walks to the chair and picks up his computer and starts searching the web.

A couple of hours later and after dozens of phone calls all the necessary arrangements were made except for one big one. One he will worry about later when the time is right.

Jon hears the door slide open and then sees the curtain move aside, he closes his computer and sets it aside as he watches Derrick enter the room.
"Hey Jon, are you ok?" He asked looking concerned for his friend.  
"I'm fine just wanting answers that no one wants to give me." He said a bit heated as he looked at the man standing before him.
"Jon what do you want to know? I'll answer if I can." Derrick tells him as he pulls up the extra chair in the room to have this talk with Jon.
"Derrick, we have no idea what is going on with Dr. Shelton, who will be taking his place, what happened to his EpiPen? When can Jackie come home with me? Who did this to her and why? Why can't I get those answers?" He spoke so fast Derrick had trouble keeping up with all he said.

"Whoa slow down Jon one question at a time please!" Derrick said with a hand raised towards Jon to slow down the onslaught of questions. Looking at Jon as he figured out which question to ask.
"Answer me!" Jon says a bit louder than he intended, Jackie stirred in the bed and her eyes started to blink open, Jon stands up and takes the one step to be by her side.
"It's ok I'm here Sweetness." He whispers as he brushes the hair out of her eyes, she looks at him with the slits of her eyes barely opening and tries to speak but yawned in stead. "You need to rest and get your strength back." He tells her in a low gentle voice. Jon watches as she looks at him one more time then closes her eyes, she then says "Jon don't do anything stupid." Jon leans down and whispers to her "I'll do what ever it takes to keep you safe I love you." He leans in and kisses her on the forehead and then steps back and sits in the chair behind him.
"Now back to our discussion." Jon says looking at Derrick.
"Jon your asking a lot of questions that have been asked by others. Not easy questions to answer. Honestly Jon not all of it is good." He said as he rubbed his face with his hand, he sighs looks at Jackie who was now sleeping.  Then looks at Jon again and says, "The EpiPen was tampered with but there were no prints but there was evidence of peanut oil in it so it was deliberate, someone tried to kill him or at least prevent him from saving Jackie's life which means they know she is alive that means we need to move her and fast I have things already in motion to get her  out here, now this part your not going to like, you will not know where she is going."
"WHAT!" He yells at Derrick.

She tries to open her eyes to see what was holding her hands down but is unable to open her eyes they feel swollen. She then heard a blood curling a Scream "oh my God what was that?" Chapter 22

Jon is pushed aside he watches the bed go flat, someone push a blue button on the wall then hears  "CODE BLUE IN ICU ROOM 2088 CODE BLUE ICU ROOM 2088” Jon watches people fly into the room each taking part in working  on her he hears “Her stats are dropping! BP is falling.” Jon then sees Dr. Shelton enter the room then he puts his stethoscope on and listens to her heart and lungs he then he puts it around his neck pulls back the cover and yells “get me an OR stat!” a nurse runs out of the room “Rocky look at this!” Dr. Shelton  states pointing  to her abdomen Rocky looks at her belly sees it’s distended “her belly is hard and distended she is bleeding inside.” The Dr. states firmly  the nurse rushes back in tells the Dr. They have an OR the bed is unplugged the IV is detached from her and the door is pushed open and the bed and the medical staff rush out the door and down the hall he watches till he can no longer see them as they rush down the hall. Chapter 23

The next morning Dr. Shelton  comes in Jon jumps up from the chair after a restless night sleep “ good morning  doc are still  taking her off the vent?” Jon asks as he watches the Dr. Take his stethoscope  from around his neck, “Jon good morning, yes that is the plan I’m going to do a quick assessment and I will take her off of it. I feel she is ready to come off.  Her x-rays look good it shows the lung  is healing she will have a lot of pain from it and the ribs she has a long recovery  a head of her. I did start tapering her off the pain meds and the sleep meds I want her to wake up see how she is emotionally.” The Dr. Said he placed his stethoscope  in his ears listens  to her lungs, he then moved to the abdomen he slid the stethoscope  under her back moved it to different locations trying not to move  her around to much.
